Ezekiel 2:8

Ezekiel 2:8 (NIV 84)   8  But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not rebel like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you .” As Ezekiel is in the midst of receiving a vision of God. He is in the midst of his call from being a priest to becoming a prophet while in Babylonian exile. It is there that God says to him "Do not rebel like that rebellious house; open your mouth  and eat what I give you." The first thing I think of is repentance and faith.  Repent from the rebellious way of Israel which landed them in exile. Much like Adam's sin earned him exile from the Garden, and so our sin has separated us from God.  Our repentance is a choosing of sides. We must take God's side against our sin. Not only repentance, but also faith is here in the passage. Faith in God, trusting the truth He has given in His Word. God again and again is teaching us to not live by bread alone, but by every word that from His mouth. Tha
